Beau or Bow (Gender Reveal Party)

The HOT trend on baby showers are Gender Reveals.  If you are not aware of gender reveal parties, these hip, celebrity inspired parties are fun events where an expecting couple along with their friends and family find out the sex of their baby for the first time in a creative way.  Savoy The Socialite & Hayden Savoy Lifestyle Living planned a gender reveal celebrity inspired baby shower for the couple, LaKeytra and Melvin. Did I mention we had help from LaKeytra childhood girlfriends and one devoted grandmother...They were such a joy to work with and wanted to surprise the couple with many details, within the event.  The guest were greeted with a salad and potatoe bar, while tapa style mini turkey and crabcake burgers, salmon and jerk chicken sliders were passed.  As the guest arrived they signed in with stating if they were voting for a Beau or Bow. The reveal was inside of this box created by the grandmother...

Savoy's Fav of the Month: Feather Bowties

One of my great pals, Lorenza Harris (Male Fashion Guru) introduced a fabulous statement for his birthday...a feather bowtie.  I am not sure if he understood how amazing he looked but he had my head turning.  Of course as an event planner, I just had to blog about this and encourage all of my fall and winter grooms to make this an option for your wedding.  I found a vendor that handcrafts such a bowtie from South Carolina, these are 100% turkey feather bowties.
Thanks Ren for being fashion forward and giving me something to blog about...

Winery for Weddings

Did you know the state of Virginia has over 200 wineries?  Vineyards can be perfect when hosting a wedding.  Vineyards offer elegance and romance, while your guest will enjoy the uniqueness and personalization of your wedding.

Some of our friends invited us to Charlottesville, Virginia to explore a few wineries.  The weather was perfect and I could envision a breath taking ceremony as bride walking down the aisle to the unspoiled landscape.

The Trump Winery patio was serene and an ideal place to bring your picnic basket purchase a bottle of wine and enjoy the company of your spouse.  Excellect choice for celebrating an anniversary.

Did you know Virginia is known for their Viognier?
This is my new fave wine for the fall...

Southern Gentleman Birthday Party

Southern gentlemen and southern hospitality are the greatest characteristics of culture and lifestyle in the South. Savoy The Socialite planned a Southern Gent Style Birthday themed party for Derek Robinson. This party was all about the modern south.
The inspiration for the “Southern Gent Style Birthday” was drawn from Southern roots of the birthday man and the embodiment of his fraternity, Kappa Alpha Psi. As well as we wanted to portray a warm and homey feeling.

In keeping with tradition, we served the guests all of his favorites, tapa style of course: Turkey burgers, Jerk Chicken burgers, mac & cheese, potato salad, stuffed mushrooms, and zinger deviled eggs. A homemade dessert bar by Hayden/Savoy lifestyle living. The bar was filled with pastries from, sweet potato tarts, cupcakes, lemon squares, cheesecake bites, caramel popcorn and more.

Reggie Wells-Oprah's Makeup Artist (Its all about the eyes)

Reggie Wells, Oprah's personal makeup artist was spotted in Neiman Marcus by me and two of my girlfriends.  Reggie sent us many compliments as well as he teased us about certain makeup techniques that we were using. Reggie tooked the time to educate each one of us on enhancing our over all look when it comes to makeup.
He stated that, "No African American women should ever walk out the house with black eyes".  Of course being the diva that I am, FYI...Reggie agreed... I did not have any issues but wanted to take the opportunity to educate myself for preventative aging and makeup techniques.  I knew that I would share with my bloggers the secret of dark circles under the eyes. Are you ready for the secret.......
Bleaching Cream
Reggie gave a suggestion of using Ambi.

We all were using some type of eyecream from Strivectin to Clarins.  Which are high dollar products.  The fact that this celebrity makeup artist gave us such a cost effective suggestion, also an old school grandma remedy for dark circles , I just had to share.

A must have product
Tom Ford Brow Sculptor (your best friend in a stick)

Mac Ruby Woo Lipstick (Reggie gave compliments to this color)

Thanks Reggie,

I will never forget that moment...

Surprise Baby Shower " Gender Reveal"

I am so in love with Guiliana and Bill Rancic. For those of you who follow the couple, you understand that there is a celebration of life not only for Guiliana and her battle of breast cancer, but their expecting baby.  On Father's Day the couple announced the gender of the baby by releasing blue balloons from a giant box.  Thursday, Guiliana has a surprised shower from her collegues.  This couple is so deserving and humble through their process.  We wish them blessing throughout their journey. Thanks for revealing your life to the world and I am forever inspired.

80 to 100 guest were invited to this gender reveal.  They had a big box written on it What do you think?  When they opened the box blue balloons came out...
The food consisted of mini-sliders, mac & cheese, cupcakes and more...

Her collegues really out did themselves with a surprise mini shower.

Savoy The Socialite want to say
Congratulations to Guiliana & Bill

Honeymoon "Adult Resort" in Luxury

Can I say "Amazing"... Last week boyfriend and I went to an all inclusive adult resort in Mexico.  I was simply excited about taking a break and getting away.  I had no idea of the luxury accomodations or flawless hospitality of the resort. From the time that you pulled up, everything is ROYAL... (the bed, service, dining, conceirge).  We took advantage of every detail of the resort, from dining to spa treatments and the nightly activities.  We also met some wonderful couples from Scotland, England, Texas and New Jersey...

Of course surrounded by newly weds and destination weddings.  I  really wanted my clients and viewers to take advantage of this amazing resort.  This is a 2012 top 10 vacation spot... Check it out:

"A Night For Torsheba"

40 years and we did it in All White..."A Night For Torsheba".  The husband of the year award goes to Perryn Givens.  Perryn called us to create a special event for his wife that was turning the big 4-0.  What he really wanted was to create a night for his wife.  So the theme of course was,"A Night For Torsheba".  This theme was all about her celebrating life with family and friends. 100 guest were invited to hear the sounds of Ordinary People and line dance with Kemel Patton.

Guest signed Torsheba's memory book and pictures were taken at the entrance. Her guest included her childhood friends, sorority sisters, co workers & more.

Perfect Triangle...DST of course...

How could you not dance to Ordinary People...

Kemel The Line Dance King of Richmond, VA

It was our goal to make this "A Night For Torsheba" with personalization, friends, family and fun.
I think HaydenSavoy Lifestyle Living and Savoy The Socialite did just that...
